Know Your Neighbourhood

In Spring 2024, Edgelands Arts worked with groups from across Wakefield to explore their local area, develop their creativity and tackle loneliness and feelings of isolation.

Groups from the Well Women Centre, Spectrum People, Turning Lives Around and Hearing Voices, who participated in sessions using silk painting, creative writing, sound recording, music and shadow puppetry. The groups used different creative activities to work together and get to know each other and the area they live in. At the end of the project, all the groups had the opportunity to come together to see the work they had each created and to celebrate their achievements. This work was funded through Creative Lives' Know Your Neighbourhood Fund.
